Wrong metal is the biggest tip-off for me. This is a "tourist copy" of a silver sela, or tetradrachm.

Yes, genuine ones are rare, and also in high demand. All the examples on Wildwinds sold about 10 years ago for about $1500 apiece.

This is the kind of coin purchased by little old ladies on vacation after hearing a great story from the local Arab boy who just found it in the dirt.

On eBay you miss out on the great story and just get the fake coin.
