1836 O.121 R5+ VG08 & 1829 O.106 R5- VF25 Capped Bust Halves - PCGS CERT'D w/ OVERTON # ON HOLDE

We have hundreds of other raw Bust halves in our inventory, ranging in grade from AG to AU. Please contact me via PM for details.
These two coins are fresh back from grading. Neither has been sent to CAC for review.
1836 O.121 R5+ PCGS VG08. $OLD
The scarcest of the "Bar Dot" varieties, and truly deserving of an R5+ rating. PCGS has certified a total of 9 examples in all grades. The most recent sale of comparable specimen was in 6/11, when a raw F12 sold for $1450 in a fixed-price Downey sale. Aside from some minor rim bumps, the present coin is free of issues, displaying a uniform, light-brown patina with lovely dirt accumulation at the high points of the devices.

1829 O.106 R5- PCGS VF25. $495
Because this variety is often confused with the O.107, which is only R3, the market is flooded with mis-attributed examples. For this reason, we sent our coin to PCGS for confirmation, so that both parties can be confident it is the rare variety. A PCGS VF20 sold at Stacks-Bowers in 06/12 for $352, which appears to be the most recent public sale of a comparable example. This problem-free example displays an attractive, dusty patina and is quite choice for the grade details wise. The only issue to mention are some small abrasions at the Bust's ear, however they blend well with the coin's mottled toning.
Can provide close-ups upon request
