Why coin dealers drink, Park CCCCXIIII

CaptHenwayCaptHenway Posts: 31,559 ✭✭✭✭✭
From the dealer-to-dealer network:

"It takes all of the mystery out of life when a guy walks in, hands me a slab box, I pop the lid and there's a note inside that says "Overgraded & Problems".

And yes, they all were.

And then he tells me he meant to take the note out before
showing me the box.

The box was full and the best thing in there was a 98-O $ NGC-62 with a massive staple scratch on the cheek....then we had badly cleaned copper (NOT noted on the slabs) and "buffed" buffalos.
Someone worked very hard to assemble this group of "material"."

I have wonder what kind of slabs. Badly cleaned copper?

But there has been many times when people have called me after they have decided to "thin out the herd" so to speak and I am left wasting my time going though a box of cr@p.

Shows the seller has a good eye, if a bad memory. Or else it's the dregs no one wanted when he shopped the remainder of the collection, and someone was honest with him along the way.

Just keep refreshing the puzzle till you find one that's clear.
    Not a nice new step.

I've found long posts get people asked to go through verification.
