Good question. R1 pennies are scarce (if indeed that was an R1 penny, since I can't make out the legends and didn't bother to pull out my Spink book to do any research), but there must be something else to warrant that kind of price. The bids look legit too, and the bidders seem informed too, based on the bidding history.
