WHO engraved these coins? A question never answered. The more you study the designs, the more Beautiful they appear! ......................1837 Feuchtwanger 4E ex. Q. David Bowers, the Plate Coin for the Feuchtwanger Currency in "100 Greatest American Medals and Tokens ". BTW Feuchtwangers came in at Number 4.

it's not hard to see where Lewis Feuchtwanger may have gotten at least some of his design inspiration. in my example, the Eagle represents Great Britain while the Heron represents the fledgling upstart American Colonies.

Here's a pic of my old NGC MS66 example... the coin was later sold and eventually ended up in the Cardinal Collection and was sold at Stacks last night for more than double what I sold it for!!!
