Another Grading Sob Story - not really

I'm a set collector and recently decided to get ready to sell my SLQs. I have had the set 20+ years and many were purchased raw so I expected my grading skills to suffer some indignity; I was not disappointed. I only tried to slab five coins as many of the XF/AUs and even some MS coins do not warrant the cost of slabbing and then re-slabbing etc (IMO).
The 1921 slabbed as PCGS AU 55 but an identical looking 1919-D was an XF 45 (a dealer in these couldn't tell the difference).
My 1927-s was cleaned; it was. The 1923-s they say was cleaned but looks like a pretty good AU to me and others. The ugliest part was the 1916 originally in an ANACS 50 holder (but admittedly ugly) came back PCGS 40 (methinks a 45 but...). This was my first submission to PCGS (and only the second time I ever had anything graded). I thought they were hard on a couple of the coins and inconsistent (IMO) but it is okay (I guess it has to be). There is nothing new here relative to submission results and I have been reluctant to slab coins but in this case, no one likes to buy key dates any more without them being slabbed.
As I thin my collections I expect to go through this often. Hopefully, it doesn't drive me crazy.
