1873-CC Trade dollar with chopmarks: Is this some sort of mint error???

I just got this 1873-CC T$ today and it was in a new PCGS genuine holder listed as XF details damaged. I decided to crack it out due to a small green spot that I wanted to acetone and remove. The green spot was successfully removed and I also noticed the the right edge of the obverse was slightly off center or maybe double struck or something else. The rim on that side is definately thicker and sticks up higher than the rest of the coin. Also the reeding does not go all the way across the side. What is this called? Should I resubmit as an error? Thanks for any info.

no error worthy of designation imo but i do see what appears to be a neat collar clash on the obv rim about k1-k2

This is a slightly cool error and it's neat that you noticed it Dave. I think it may be indicative of the period and the process, as this phenomenon isn't all that rare. Having said that, it's way more common on the 75 and 76 san francisco coins than the cc's, based on my observations. I don't think I've ever seen it on a Philadelphia made trade dollar.

I don't know much about minting processes either, but I know that much is true.
1875 S Trades seem to come with similar issues.
