I just keep falling

PTVETTERPTVETTER Posts: 6,024 ✭✭✭✭✭
I can't believe at one time I was as high as 7th and now I just keep falling and falling. In time I will regain a few positions but for now I just keep holding my breath hoping not to fall too far.

  • I saw the coin Tim is trying to sell in a much better picture over the weekend, it is a very nice piece! The pic here does no justice for the coin. If any one needs a 30s, this is a bargin in my books.

I had a mixed bag at the show. Should have sold more, but I picked up some nice currency there. Kranky was a BIG help. image

I had hoped to be adding to my Merc's this week, but they haven't arrived yet, and I'll be out of town for several days. Guess they'll have to wait until next week. Do any of you other Merc guys or gals have additions coming this week? I just want to brace myself for another drop in the standings. image

            Ken,

I will be removing the coins you bought from me tonight, thus I will be sliding down the ladder until I fall off. I finally figured out my new scanner, so you will be seeing some MS67s on eBay soon.

            Pat,

My highest ranking was 17th, that may not end up being so bad in a year or two. If Merc's keep on growing at the same rate they will be one of the biggest registry collections in the not too distant future. Not so bad for a sweet little coin.

Received the Coin from Heritage that I won in thier Auction that was at Central States. IMO they need to take some more time with the Pictures they put up for the Consignors to the Auctions.
This is the Scan they had and the Scan I made after getting the Coin today. Neither of the Pictures Really Show what the Coin looks like. It is Really Pretty as You Rotate it in the Light. The Colors Really Jump Out and Catch Your Eye. Maybe the Best $45.00 I have spent on Coins.
                Am I Pleased ? You Bet !!
Will Friday Hold a Suprise reguarding the Set Rankings ?image

I just added 3 New MS66RD's and upgraded a 65RD to 66RD on some tough date lincolns (well tough for the short set). 1935 - 66RD, 35-D 66rd, 43D-MS66. 48-66RD and did not budge off of #39 1 bit. Man this could get spendy to get in the top 25.

It's a long road getting into the top 25 from 39. Not only will you have to beat out those that are between you and 25, but those that are already at 25 and higher are sure to get more coins just as you will.

                        Good luck,
                        David

Ken, I will be in an OSHA class on Saturday till the afternoon, but yes, I will run over there and check on those dimes. You mentioned a certain person was trying to get a 27D? I dont think you are talking about me, but I am in talks with one dealer that I found in a cubby hole on the net last weekend, he is suppose to let me know today, when he sends me pictures of the coin. Its a 63, but he thinks its nicer, we will see.
                        Got my fingers crossed.....imageimage

                              1. I was bidding on the B&M for that 21d, but after you add in all the buyers fees, ins, del, its just not going to be worth it. I found the 27d on a small site. I will keep you updated.image
