Economy Submission ...Time check, now 37 Business days and counting...

Kinda like waiting in line at Disney World, every once in awhile they hand out those plastic lanyards to test their estimated wait time. Enjoy the Holiday weekend... image

I grabbed a fast pass [I think they still use these to jump to a shorter line] and sent 4 coins under Regular, which were received on Thursday image

34 business days is not unusual for an Economy submission. I've waited as long as 50 days before.

    Estimated Submission Turnaround Time
    Service U.S. Coins World Coins
Express target: 5 business days 3 business days 10 business days
Regular target: 15 business days 13 business days 48 business days
Economy target: 20 business days 28 business days 62 business days
Modern target: 10 business days 10 business days 47 business days

They are on target for all US submissions types except Economy. In fact, I would say now is a good time to submit.

I have waited that long as well, however, I find it unusual that the posted estimated times since my submission logged in has varied from 25-28 during this same time. I think revenue would jump if the estimates were lets say, more accurate. And yup I know an estimate is an estimate but we're not rebuilding a kitchen...

I content that revenues jump when economy submitters get frustrated and upgrade to regular submissions. Let's check what actually happened: PCGS reports record revenue and profits

The turnaround times are long enough, but they PCGS steals a few extra days by not logging in the orders promptly. I dropped off an economy submission at the Long Beach show and it still hasn't been logged into the system yet... two full business days after the show has ended. Hopefully they log it in sometime this week image

Same here i took in 1 coin for a walk thru but they would not do it with Chinese so i had to change it to express on thursday at the LB show and it was just put in today and it says hold. I dont know they tell you spend more $$$ if you want it fast. I dont know if it is true or not i can only say what go's on with my sub's So i do pay more all the time but it will take just as long as a reg submission. Oh well keep on knocking no one is home. I guess this is life in the grading world. image

I have an economy in since 8/22, still waiting. I normally don't use it, but I had a bunch of stuff that could use grading, but not enough room to pay the full service price.

But I get tired of waiting, probably wont do it again. An NGC economy came back last week submitted at the same time, actually 4 days after this one was submitted.

I mailed my submissions and they arrived at the post office on the weekend and were entered in on the first Monday ... this was 3 weekends ago. Grades posted tonight for the cc submission....11 business days

... why can't PCGS simply hire more graders to keep up with the demand, and allow them to turn-around coins in a reasonable amount of time!

I used to drive a city bus. Sometimes bus drivers on the route would be so far behind I would catch up to them. Of course, I could not PASS them. The schedule just got screwed up due to what we know as a "traffic-jam". It wasn't like the city needed to hire more bus drivers. Do you see the comparison ? A "hire" is an asset (personal view), but also an expense (corporate view). It's not like people are ALWAYS waiting for the bus.

I know you and everyone else thinks they are morons and you could run the business so much better. But just for a second assume they know what they are doing. If economy submissions were super fast, why would anyone bother with the more expensive express? They have it all figured out down to the penny, down to the day. They are a highly profitable, successful company who is #1 in coin grading, #1 in card grading, #1 in sports memorabilia, and #1 in autographs. Like Tim Cook who said "Apple doesn't make junk", CLCT doesn't sacrifice speed for quality. They know how to drive people towards their more expensive offerings while keeping those with lesser means engaged.

Overall, I'm pleased with the results... submitted a 1903 USPI Proof Set and I thought a couple of them may grade higher, but also thought a couple may not grade at all, so it evens out I think. I also suspected the 10 centavos in the set may not have been a proof and it seems like PCGS confirmed that.

Now I have to keep busy until the TrueViews for a couple of them get posted image

    That's NOTHING!

I submitted in mid-August - still waiting - 75 days and over 55 business days!

Does anyone have any suggestions? Many calls to customer service. They don't lose things do they?

I am told that I because I asked for some varieties, it that takes longer, but 3 months. These are common varieties.
I mean, I paid for 4 varieties, almost $100 bucks, and get a nice 3 months wait for my money.

As you can see, very frustrated!

It took 20 days at PCGS for them to REHOLDER 2 coins I sent in. I am on 6 business days now for an express order that did not grade today and since they are closed thurs and fri it means it will be at least another 5 days. This is really not the place to complain though, but I wish they would work on some of these internal problems. I give them a lot of money and hope they get things right. I am loyal, but I expect my loyalty to be rewarded.

i employed a dealer to hand off twelve at whatever show was around thanksgiving, mine were back before x-mas. 11 of the 12 graded, and all were VERY conservative. i would have been happy to wait a few more weeks for a correct grade.
