German states "Wildman" coin

I have a 1689 German "Wildman" coin. The catalog does not go any higher than XF and it shows none in BU. Mine graded mid AU. Does anyone know if there is a way to find population figures on these coins? A search on HA did not turn up many matches. Thanks.

The population of graded German States minors at NGC/PCGS is small. It is quite likely that your piece is the only graded example to date depending on the denomination. If I search MA Shops for Brunswick and 1689, I find 25 pieces currently offered across all denominations and states related to Brunswick. A search of currently offered pieces on this site might yield more information, or you might have luck searching auction results on McSearch also.

As worlcoinguy said, not a lot of the minors, or even AU graded talers are slabbed so take the population figures with a grain of salt.

"Tiiefenthaler" just means "from the Tiliefen valley".
