What's the coin in the bottom left-hand corner?
    Half dime?

    Thanks,

    So hard to sell....

Do yourself a favor and pass. image If not, a more than fair price for that grade and condition is 50c per coin for the problem free ones...you can average down for the ones that are corroded, which is more than a couple.

Agree. Some look like culls/corroded and have very little value. Unlikey that there are any better dates in there and you should just assume that they've already been searched and that any better grade coins have already been removed. Unless they are extremely cheap, I would pass on this deal.

This is one of those areas where the Gray Sheet "dealer wholesale" numbers are too high. The Gray Sheet says that Indian cents in G-VG date before 1900 are worth $65 for a roll of 50 and pieces dated 1900-07 are worth $55 a roll. As a dealer the best I could do was $1.00 each, which I viewed as a retail coin show price, and it took me a while to get that. For "no problem" G-VG examples I'd say that 50 to 60 cents a piece is fair for any of the common dates, except for the 1894, which is scarcer. Problem pieces are worth from one cent to 30 or 35 cents. I had flea market dealer buy those from me from me for 50 cents a piece.

If you can't go though the lot to look for better dates, that's all I would pay.

    $20/roll

Edited to add: My original answer was a buy price. $25-$35/roll sell price on average for avg. circ non-culls.

To my way of thinking a price of 50-cents per coin is fair for both the buyer and seller.

Are talking about just the ones that aren't corroded or culls?

You could pay 40 or 50 cents apiece for these without sweating about it too much.Pull the culls off to the side and offer 20 cents for these if you think 50 cents is too much for culls.Don't nit pick for dates unless prepared to pay fair market price for any key or semi-key dates that might be present.

I recently went through an accumulation of IHC for a friend who wanted to know "how much they were worth."

    There was a real nice,XF-AU 1859,an 1871 no problem F-VF and a 1909-S VG-F in this group.

None of these coins are for sale. She wants to pass them along to her grandchildren.

If it were me I would pay 50 cents each just to look. While there is probably no key dates I bet there are varieties to be found. Date in denticles, DD etc. But that is me as a collector. Strictly business - they are not worth the time.

If the image is representative of a quick glance of the lot then I would make no effort to go through the coins and would simply count them and pay 50-cents each, which obviously would also include the culls.

What TomB stated. I haven't seen average circ. bulk lots of Indian cents trade at a higher level in over 5 years.

As has been already stated.....if the coins are average circulated and between 1900- 1909...I would pay $20.00-$25.00 per roll. Now if you have some that are older and some higher grades then increase your buying price accordingly. also factor in the 'Culls' at about .25 cents a piece.....

1909 is also a "better" date, worthwhile to separate from the commons.
