I'd absolutely have to see this one in hand! I assume you acquired it as an Unc.

PCGS will put that coin in a Genuine holder, there is a big spot of active PVC at K-5 on the obverse.

If it grades my guess is MS62, but if that is indeed active PVC on the obv then no holder?

Compare it to this coin....As reported on another thread PCGS sees the heavy woodgrain as negitve from the eye-appeal standpoint.[/i

    I'm in for MS62.

Also think a bit of the green goo.... acetone soak.

PCGS is tough on the eye appeal thing.... technical grade might be 63-64 but they will ding it a bit for woodgrain. Aslo migh BN it instead of RB.

The XF coin in the link, has some wear on the wheat ears, that gives it an XF/AU grade.......
    Just my thoughts.

Was this coin really sent in for grading ?
    Why ?
Unless there is an interest in increasing the company that grades its stocK price.

I'm anxious too, I like the coin as a 62 or 63 brn or rb.

Edited to say that rb is doubtful, but noticed something about the 9 in the date...is it repunched?

I have found that PCGS doesn't care much for woodies and I'm guessing here but I believe they downgrade them for negitive eye appeal. I personally like them.

    Fun thread, Teddy. image

I guessed XF45, which would have made it a $5 coin. Instead, it's worth more than twice that! image

Of course, woodies command a premium.

    The '28-D is mine and a 45. Teddy's '25 is a 58!

Sorry...I wasn't trying to turn this into a "let's see your woodies" thread. I (wrongly) guessed Teddy's would grade about the same as my '28-D.

    thanks all
sweet woody's there lance and swampboy...amazing grade too swamp...image

a side reason i had sent in my woody too was in hopes it would of helped this buffalo get graded
with hopes 2 woodies on the same submission would aide both
my thoughts of those 2 on a submission didn't pay off though as they bodybagged this buff
i'll try it again later as this was 2nd attempt of this buffalo
