With all the talk of overdates why don't we try to show as many examples as we can for those that may not have seen them all.
Remember that overdates are a date OVER another date. Not a re-punched number, but an over number.
One series I collect is the CBH's which are rich in overdates, but there are so many others.
I am sure there are many that I have never seen, only heard about. I would love to see what we got.
And lets say that dupes are welcome...the more the better.
Let's also, for the sake of avoiding the inevitable tempest, let one of the Merc guys include their coin.
Here is one of my favorites, the 1817/3 CBH

<< <i> Makes you wonder what made them re-work one of the dies back to a previous year. >>
I hear ya. Look at these guys. They struck a 1393 over a coin not to be minted for another 500 years.
What were they thinking.
Guess they had to go Back To the Future to get this one.

<< <i>JRocco, don't tell everyone about the 1836/1336 CBH. How do you expect me to be able to buy more of them?
>>
What a beauty with only the slightest touch of rub.

Ouch
Here is the “whole” coin.
Detail of the overdate.
Detail of the "normal" variety.
The best way to spot this variety is look at the reverse. One the overdate there is a berry under the "E" in "UNITED." ("Excellent!" It's the rare one.")
If the berry is under the "D" in "UNITED," it isn't. (Oh darn! It's the more common one!)
