Do you think there ever will be a discount for getting a complete set regraded or secure plussed by

Especially since some coins graded prior to secure plus (those deserving of a +) are now graded incorrectly. I hear of people submitting complete sets. Is it always the same price, price per coin, times number of coins? I just can't imagine submitting coins for regrade that you know won't upgrade.

The Registry is a 'cash cow' for PCGS, why would they shoot themselves in the foot by cutting a deal on a set?

Would it be nice if PCGS did, sure. But it aint going to happen....

Maybe I am mishearing your "tone", but it sounds like you think PCGS owes you something because they added secure plus (with a possibility of a + grade)?
If so, I shake my head.

If you are just being hopefuly, and I am indeed mishearing your "tone" in the text, then I think the answer is, "regrettably no. no discount. It's a business"

It is a business, unless something holds the potential of profit (meaning increased business or larger customer base) then it will not happen. It is not good business to lose money. Cheers, RickO

I don't think they will ever offer a discount because they don't need to. People will pay the price if they want their coins to be in a certain type of plastic.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, unless and until you are planning to sell. Coins that would receive the + will sell themselves and, besides, you can set the price you want for them.

You could always be selective and send in the coins with the most upgrade potential. They had a free special with the secure plus, so I sent in my 1919-S MS66, and it came back with the plus. If you know your series you should be able to tell which will upgrade.

I would think it would make sense from a business perspective to discount for someone sending 50 or 100 coins in a set to be regraded.

It used to be 4 free submissions if your registry set was at least 90% complete. It was to encourage one to use them on coins that could be added to their sets.

Did anybody ever ask Mr. Willis? They would be making more money even with a discount than they would if one sent the set in for reholder only. .
