What would this 1963 Hoyt Wilhelm grade?

This card is a blazer: Beautiful gloss, 4 sharp corners and no color loss on the yellow parts. What are your opinions on what it would grade? What if it didn't say "W. Sox" in ink on the back?

Possibly a straight 8. Looks like a 9 but the centering will keep it from that.
You will however get the MK qualifier...even for the back.

Okay, the kicker is that the card was purchased on eBay from a seller who has gained notoriety for cards that come back from PSA as 'recolored'. (Yes, the seller's name rhymes with maverly). It was purchased in December of 2007. My question is, if the card is recolored or touched up, is it possible to tell without submitting to PSA? From the naked eye, it looks completely legit.

The left edge doesn't look right to me. Could be the scan. 8OC

The right edge back really wobbles. Sloppy knife job. The "what if" doesn't count becuz the MK is there. This isn't that tough a card. So I guess for me the bigger ? is why with it's questionable provenance, + the MK would you even want to pay to have it graded? Even if it came back w/o the EOT designation, you've only got a $5 card. You can buy them all day long in 7-8 for pocket change. Remember: the MK will knock it down two grades no matter how nice the front is.

I bought a cheap little 10X lighted loupe on eBay that really shows the recoloring on corners. I HIGHLY recommend that you pick one up.

This card will not grade if it came from that guy. Otherwise without the mark on the back has the appearance of an 8.5. But it HAS the mark. Kind of like all the perfectly centered cards out there with bad corners "what if"?

    Good luck with this one.

Nevermind, I didn't see that the OP was playing a "what if it didn't" game..

I agree that it is not worth grading but was just wondering what folks would think it would grade at. I was going through my raw HOF collection recently and came across this card. I had a feeling I knew who it was purchased from and went through my eSnipe records. Sure enough, I matched that with the seller's feedback history and knew where it came from. I do recall that I complained about the writing on the back and I believe the seller refunded the entire purchase price, which was around $8-$10. Ignoring the writing on the back, the card still has great eye appeal.
