Question on Reviews...Don't Think I Have Seen This One Asked

Hi guys....Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Simple question but I don't know the definitive answer....

I want to sub a few cards for review that are 9OC to have the qualifier removed...

They appear to have centering that is good enough for a straight 8.

Will PSA automatically grade this as a 7 NQ or will they take into account centering and can I get something higher????

Thanks Much

Jeff

if you send them for review, the opinions may be tainted by the fact they have already been classified as O/C, but if you pop them out of the holders and include them in a larger submission, i'd guess you'll wind up with a mix of 7's & 8's by requesting no qualifiers.

itzagoner...thanks but I don't want to crack out these.

In theory this card is off center for a Mint card but it falls with centering for an 8 so can they give it an 8 or do they automatically deduct two grades?

    Thanks Guys

Yes, I do believe it is possible. I had a similar situation crossing over a card graded SGC 84 - 7 NM to PSA. I put down min grade 7, but forgot to also check NQ. The card ended being crossed over to a PSA 8OC! The centering (IMO) is within the guidelines for a PSA 7, so I may submit it with my review order to see if I can get the PSA 7.
  • I believe the 2 grade deduction is for purposes of registry calculation only. If the centering falls within the standards for an 8, then the card should receive an 8 if you ask for no qualifiers.
  • I recently had a 9OC that I sent back in and received a straight 8 in return. I put on the form that it met the centering requirements for an 8.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.
