Today I am graciously thankful for PSA, this forum, and especially your love and support! :)

Today is more than just another day. In November of 2001 my family and I celebrated Thanksgiving on November 22nd, Thursday. That Saturday November 24th some friends and I went to a local dance club for some drinks and dancing. That night I first laid eyes on my wife, and we danced the night away. Today is exactly 10 years to the day that I first met my wife, so you can imagine the importance of this day to me, and my family.
Exactly 1 month ago on October 24th my beautiful, precious wife moved on to heaven. That day October 24th was National Pink Ribbon day. If you do not believe in God, at least I hope you'll agree that those dates are not a coincidence.
Today is a day to be thankful for life, the simple things. Having eyes and the ability to see, having hands to be able to work with, having legs and feet to be able to walk on, having a brain with the ability to think, and having a heart to be able to love with.
I am so thankful for this board and all the unconditional love and support you gave to me, especially over the last year. I will forever be grateful, and today I have many things to be thankful for, and you are a big part of it.
Because my wife lived, I have been given the greatest gifts a man could ever want. I have 3 healthy, beautiful, intelligent children. Going through my wife's disease made me a better man. I am thankful for the lessons my wife taught me. I am more gentle, patient, understanding, caring, loving, more pro active and less reactive, I have no anger in my heart and mind, I know how to love and what it means. I have the least amount of bad habits than I ever have, things aren't taken to the extreme anymore, I have less intensity, and more passion. Less is truly better, and my faith in God has never been stronger.
So today when I think about life, I know my wife had a purpose, and I feel overwhelmed with thankfulness because she lived.
I truly hope you all have a wonderful day today. Remember what's really important, remember to be thankful for just the simple things. Being able to hug your children, kiss your wife, spend time with your friends. Today and everyday I start my day being thankful for the things I have, and the amazing gifts I have been given.
I appreciate you like we are all obsessed with a 52 Topps Mantle PSA 9.
Enjoy the day, enjoy your family and friends, enjoy the Football games, enjoy the nap you will take after being stuffed, and enjoy knowing the difference you made in my life.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.
Mike

Very well said my friend. I know that this day must be especially tough for your family and you. However, like you stated, remember all the good that came out of the fact that Michelle and you were able to spend ten years with one another. And it sounds like they were ten wonderful years ... something many people do not experience.
We all know that Michelle is now at peace and in GOD'S hands ... no more pain for her. May you be comforted in knowing this.
Wishing your family and you a very blessed Thanksgiving Day.
All my love and good wishes to you guys.
AS ALWAYS, I'm here if you need to speak with someone.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
she is there with you
Thanksgiving is all about giving praise to God. There is no doubt He has provided a room in heaven for your bride, and while He awaits your arrival to be reunited with her someday, know that all of us are your family here on earth.
Best wishes,
Tom

I've got news for him. Thanksgiving is one of the greatest holidays we have. It is a day we give thanks to God for all of his blessings. In reality, Thanksgiving should be every day in our lives. We ought to be thankful every day.
Today is a great day. I am with the family I love dearly, I will have a good meal, probably take a nap, and just have a great day.
Great post, Mike. God bless you and your family today.

As Shane said it best, "Thanksgiving is one of the greatest holidays we have. It is a day we give thanks to God for all of his blessings. In reality, Thanksgiving should be every day in our lives. We ought to be thankful every day."
I am thankful for being able to get to know you this year and hopefully for many, many more years to come. You and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers.

I don't know you, I don't think that we have ever bought or sold from each other.
I will say a prayer for you and your family. We are all in this thing called life together, and we should share and care in every way with others.

<< <i>The other day on ESPN radio, Colin Cowherd was talking about some of the most overrated holidays in our country. He said that Thanksgiving is probably the most overrated because he said that all we do is "spend all day with family we don't like, eat a bunch of food, take a nap, and then wait for those people we don't like to leave".
I've got news for him. Thanksgiving is one of the greatest holidays we have. It is a day we give thanks to God for all of his blessings. In reality, Thanksgiving should be every day in our lives. We ought to be thankful every day.

While studying in Italy 30 years ago, my fellow American students would celebrate Thanksgiving every year and we would invite some of our Italian friends over to celebrate. One Italian said it best "Every day is Thanksgiving in America". How true.
Wonderful, well written and heartfelt post by Mike.
Thank you for the reminder. I am going to share your story with my wife tonight also.
I hope your Thanksgiving Day was wonderful and today even better!
