OT: paypal and ebay

this may have been discussed before. i received an email today from paypal that basically says you've received payment but we're not releasing them into your account until we've confirmed delivery has completed. is this something new? i've never seen this before. typically when payments are made, the funds are available immediately. this has happened on 2 items i've sold this week.

They have been placing holds on alot of people, mostly new sellers or people who have been inactive in selling but also have been selecting random people it seems. Once the buyer leaves feedback the funds should release. I have heard of people getting funds released after the dc# confirms delivery has been made. From what I understand it is a temporary deal.

Yep, I sold $1K worth of items last weekend after not selling anything in 4 months, and they put those restrictions on me. Lovely how they unilaterally decide you're a crook until proven otherwise. In my experience, DC confirmation triggered the 3 days, but don't forget to add on the OTHER 3 day wait for the funds to actually make it to your bank account if you choose to withdraw the proceeds.

If you raise a big enough stink with PP support, they will do a one-time release of one auction for you before the 3 day deadline. Hope yours isn't a bunch of small/medium ones.
