You have to wonder how any of those black borders made it through the packaging process with perfect corners!

I wonder if Topps was mad at Brooks that year.

Very nice cards....I collect Brooks Robinson cards and I hate the shot they used on his 1971 card...he must have just went down swinging--strike 3.....The only other brooks card that is worse is his 1958. He must have been talking when the photographer snapped the shutter button !
Dont we all wish we could go back to the summer of 1971 and buy some packs..I love that set!!

Looking for any bazooka boxes with Brooks or topps test issues!

Was a momentary thought when I first bought it, but never a real possibility.

Actually I took detailed scans of that rack (both sides) and then had it shrink wrapped against a
cardboard backing and authenticated as unopened and stickered as such.

If PSA will ever decide to grade racks then that will be it's ultimate disposition.

is that a hole the entire way through the McCovey in the rack? It's almost like it was hung from the store rack with a nail through 10 cards?

    Congratulations Dave!

Incredible card and the rest are sweet also - I especially like the fact that the Reggie doesn't have a tone of chipping.

Good luck on finishing the set. What %?

In 1971 Topps used actual cards as the header cards for their racks. The rack hung from that hole through McCovey.

I'm about half way on the commons/minor stars in PSA 8 or better.

Many of the stars I don't have in 9 I do have in 8 (e.g. Blyleven, Kaline, Carew, Bench, Mays, Clemente, F Robby) or 8.5 (Seaver).
My current Ryan is a 7.5 so that's probably the next priority for major star upgrade.

I have the rest raw, but many not in sufficient condition to meet the min grade I am trying to do.

One of several projects that I'm assembling now.
