thenavarro's trip to game 4 of the World Series in pictures

It’s been close to a month since the Rangers choked the World Series up, and I think I’m finally over it, so I wanted to share my trip to Game 4 of the World Series with the board. I’m a diehard Rangers fan, and Game 4 was on my 41st birthday, and I did it in style. Here’s some pics of the night.
Walking up:

One of my friends arranged for my wife and I to be flag unfurlers on the field during the National Anthem. Here is my wife at check-in:
image
One of our first duties was to assist in unpacking the flag and putting it together:

image
We then practiced a couple of times, learned our cues, and took the flag up underneath the stadium via tunnel access into the area down the 3rd base line.
image
We waited what seemed like forever in that tunnel, finally time to take the field. You can see us all bringing in the flag in the outfield.
image
Once on the field, here are some views from my camera phone:

Here are the Rangers lining up for the National Anthem:

As the Anthem begins, we unfurl the flag:
image
When it got to “Banner yet wave”, we had been instructed to make the flag wave. It was incredible, the crowd went nuts, and I’ve got to admit that a couple tears streamed down my face, it was surreal. My wife is the lady on the lower far right, and I’m the wide guy in the red shirt, black shorts beside her.
image
At the end of the Anthem, two helicopters flew over us. One had the Texas flag on the bottom, and the other had the American flag. My camera phone was able to capture it:
image
Here’s a better photo of the choppers:
image
Next up was the first pitch by two current Texans, Nolan Ryan and George W. Bush:
image
This was my view from the camera phone:
image
Here’s a shot from another angle that I’m going to have to get autographed. You can see me taking a photo to Bush’s left, I’m the blurry wide guy in the red shirt, black shorts, holding the camera up:
image
And here’s another shot where you can see left to right, my backside, my wife’s backside, George W. and Nolan Ryan. This is another one I’m going to get autographed:
image
After we got the flag put up (which took all of about 3 minutes, the Rangers hooked us up with a bag full of goodies, TShirts, hats, programs, etc. My wife and I then entered the Ballpark to go to the game and spied the ALCS trophies. Of course, I had to have a picture:
image
We got to see a great game, that was incredibly exciting, capped off by this Mike Napoli 3 run blast that removed any doubt as to the outcome. Here are some camera phone pics I got from our seats of the blast, in the first one, you can see the ball just beginning to leave the homeplate area, I got lucky and just happened to be taking the pictures at that time:
image

image
Holland pitched a whale of a good game, and here he is coming off the field after retiring the Cardinals in the 8th:
image
Holland led off pitching the ninth, but couldn’t quite get it done so it was time for Neftali:
image
Feliz recorded the final out on this pitch, and this capped off my favorite experience at the Ballpark.

What a birthday!!! The World Series didn’t end up like I wanted, but this was one night that I got to share with my wife, that I’ll never forget.

Very nice game in pictures. That will be cool when you get that picture of W signed and can point yourself out to people in the background.

If I ever make it back to Texas, I'll have to go to a game. It looks like a nice park. Plus, we can go get some wings. image

    Great pictures, Mike.

Interesting to see Bush no longer wears "the jacket" in public.

looks like you got to hold the American Flag right on part of Texas. Was that by design?
