t206 Cobb Green Portrait Question

t206 experts please chime in. This PSA 5 looks to have paper loss on the back not to mention most of the back has a stain. I know paper loss would never be on a 5, not sure if that much staining could ever be on a 5. Overall, does the card even look legit? The buy it now price is way below VCP, which is unusual, too.

I have seen when paper stuck to a card can make it look like paper loss. No idea if this is the case.

Collector of Pittsburgh Pirates cards for a slightly less stupid reason.

That's a pretty old flip too. Not really sure they knew what grading standards were then.

They can't have changed that much, have they?

    .
  • Card was glued into an album and some kind of release agent was used to get it off as it has stains on the back as well. A PSA 3 at best.

The stains bother me more than the paper loss. I would avoid that card IMO. Doug

Big $$ for an extremely common card in mid grade....

edited to fix a "triple post" caused by excessive mid pacific rain... lol

    card is 100% authentic
the card has back damage and glue residue from scrapbook removal, but the front looks to be EX+/NRMT, so Id call it a 3.5.... and its still overpriced, there are a couple thousand of these out there.
If it were any other Vintage tobacco size Cobb (especially Bread/Candy), ie D303, E90-1, E92, E93, E94, E95, E98, E101, E102, E105, E106, etc. Id say it might be a good price for the eye appeal.

Dan not sure why you edited, but in answer to your question...

    "tens times"
kind of subliminal/plural(less than one hundred), that's dad trying to reduce impact on his poor puny pitiful baseball fan son.
