<< <i>Could it pull and 8 without an oc??? >>

I think that is OC no matter what. If you asked for no qualifiers, I think 7 would be the highest, but I could see them deep sixing it.

Here's an 8(OC) for comparison. It's a great pull nonetheless!

  • Just a reminder, im looking for 5-7 wrappers if anyone wants to sell a few. I was born that year and would like to frame a few hand hang them on the wall in my office. Im watching an empty 75 mini box on eBay. Anyone have an idea of what the empty box might bring?

I purchased several packs back in the Spring of 1975 from Charlie Brooks one of the old time Show Promoters in the Detroit area back in the day.He had one if not the first card shop in Detroit and I was really impressed with the cards and centering did not mean squat to me then.Since then I have spent TOO much money on them trying to build a perfect set. After going through around 3500 minis I realized this mission was too difficult because of the amounts of Miscuts,OC,Short Cards and sold everything I had graded and raw.I also have to believe that the minis may not be as scarce as once believed even though they were only distrbuted in certain parts of the country. On occaision you will find mini boxes for sale however how often do you see the Large version for sale?

The reg 75 T unopened is no doubt tougher to find than the minis, but when it comes to building a great set, the minis are much tougher. Tough commons in PSA 9 bring around $1000. Also, much unopened mini material stays that way because people know what lies inside: 99% OC ungrade-able junk. That's why the minis are so tough to build in mint 9 grade.

That #459 AL Champs card would bring somewhere around $300-$500 in a PSA 9 holder. That's a good pull.

Well, with all this "mini-mania" going on, I knew I had 1 or 2 raw packs somewhere so I went thru some stuff and found one. Guess I bought it raw quite a while ago and it survived when I sold my collection, which included hundreds of graded packs, a while ago.

I really don't follow the set closely ... here is what I got. Beene is wax card and Ellis is gum card. Anything worth grading?

The Sanders is worth grading, from what I can see. It's a decently tough card in PSA 9.
  • grote15grote15 Posts: 29,750 ✭✭✭✭✭
+1 on the Sanders. Would also send in Knowles, Roberts, Stottlemyre, Swisher, Ellis and Watt. If all those cards came out of one pack, I want to buy the rest of the box!

Tim ... yeah they did, I opened it up last night. Can't remember when I bought the pack, but it was a LONG time ago.

I also have some cards from 2 packs I ripped a couple of years ago. I sent in a BENCH that I got from the pack and it came back a "9". That card is gone. I am going to post the cards from that pack and see what you guys think is worth grading. THANKS!

Doug, you struck the mini jackpot with centering like those cards...one low pop Gem Mint 10 is all it takes to make a quick $500! Good luck if you decide to submit!

Wow, compared to what I've seen from this last 75 mini rip those cards look really nice. Makes you appreciate how hard it is to find these cards nicely centered.

Congrats Doug and David. Best of luck on any submissions!!! image

  • Any hints/tips on how I can see through the front or back of the packs? I have 2 packs from the 1st '75 mini rip and would like to rip one and save one.
  • Awesome thread leathtech.

    +1 for the rough cuts.

Grade those. Especially the Ralph Garr card. That's a good one in 9. Might land a 10 in there on a good day.
