Auction overload?? Anyone else experiencing it??

...just curious.....seems like I have gotten a Sears catalog sized auction catalog for the past month straight!! With all these auctions going on, has anybody gotten burned out on them yet?

I spent a little time perusing the catalouge from legendary last week and then on line last night and IMHO I couldn't believe some of the prices most of the Non Sport had already reached, and this wasn't even with afterhours yet. Haven't looked yet this morning, But........
About the only bargains I saw last night still going late were some of the individual HOW and Mars Attacks cards, but I am sure they were way bet up after hours......going to check right now !!!

Wow, now I stand corrected, it looks like the prices I saw yesterday afternoon never went up. Now I'm kicking myself in the A$$, there were some real steals that just happened in Non Sports !!

I would like to see it cut down to a few big high grade catalog auctions per year and then a few quarterly internet auctions, but as ebay continues to raise fees alot of dealers will continue to build there own auction sites to save money and make a little on the consignments. Probstein123 could probably give some insight into what the advantage of a personal auction might be vs. ebay?

<< <i>I think the number of auction sites has ballooned to fill the void from eBay. eBay's changes over the past several years has definitely caused them to lose market share in the collectible area. They are moving more to a fixed price model for high volume consumer items which doesn't fit well with the needs of the collectibles community. >>
I'd definitely agree with your assessment.
I can understand the overload - but the more places to buy - call it competition? - the better for the buyers?
Since auctions seem to be going south on ebay - I noticed a larger amount of games I collect are in big BINs - I'm finding less and less to bid on lately.
