Pleasantly surprised by this eBay sale

So I put out eight 1960 baseball PSA 7's and 8's for auction a week ago Sunday. Nice cards but I didn't think they would generate many high bids. However, the 1960 Topps #111 Vic Wertz PSA 8 did only have a pop of only two 9's, but about 45 8's which I thought did not make it that rare. How wrong I was. The bidding was consistant and the hammer fell on a final bid of $184.50. Quite frankly I was shocked and I evidently miscalculated what a low pop card is for the 1960 set. Any thoughts on this auction?

Congratulations. That card usually sells for a premium but it seems you hit the jackpot.

very strong example with several aggressive bidders, not just 2 guys duking it out.

according to VCP only one other PSA 8 sold this year, for a pretty good price, so it may have been those same folks who missed out on the previous one.

    good timing always helps. image
