Newbie - First post here

Hi All,

I've been lurking on this site for the past several months and decided it would be fun to participate.

I've been collecting sports cards on and off for 30+ years. I collect mostly Hall of Famers from the 50's, '60's and 70's. Nothing in too great condition. I buy some PSA graded cards through eBay but usually crack them out. Have also bought more than a few cards from waverly82 (before reading the posts here). No 62's or 63's but some that seem too good to be true.

I enjoy the scans of packs with stars on top that people post as well.
Daniel

Well, my waverly story is not too interesting: Just stumbled on his auctions on eBay one day. I'm sure I have about 12-20 cards purchased from him. The best is a 1961 Bob Gibson that's so sharp you could shave with it. After seeing waverly mentioned on a thread here, I searched around the internet (here and Net54) and read enough to stay away from future purchases.

And vlad....I'm living proof that not only douches live in Baltimore. I've also met some pretty decent people in Baltimore. There's good and bad everywhere.

Aloha, Right on, another Cracker image

If only more would crack their slabbed cards and free them, especially the lower value "collector grade" cards that NEVER EVER should be slabbed in the first place.

But dont crack out all PSA cards, especially some higher valued card, some of them seem to sell for more $$ in PSA slabs for some strange reason image

Thaks for all the welcomes! I do plan on scanning some stuff that I have. I need to pick up a cheap scanner. Looking at the Canon CanoScan LiDE110 on Amazon at $50. It has mixed reviews - anyone have any success/failures with it?

    << <i>Nice rack Jose!

So when you rip that open, make sure to have plenty of padding (thick towel or hand-cloth works well) under where you work. Also, using a mouse pad as a staging area for you pack provides for a comfortable transition into oblivion image >>

If Jose rips that, I'll change my name to the mad ripper. image
