Gem Mint Auctions

Hi All,

I know a few guys were upset for their spam of their auction a couple weeks ago. Well, I just wanted to say something nice. I purchased a couple of nice cards from the last auction(1933 Sports Kings Cobb and t206 Cy Young). When I noticed they were close to one of my dealerships, I called Kevin to see if we can meet up and exchange money for cards. I find Kevin to be a real nice guy, and he is trying hard to give us another avenue to purchase some quality cards. So I give him a big thumbs up, and I wish him much success in the future.

Speaking for myself, I was thankful for the spam, as I never would have known about the auction if I didn't see it. The only thing I can think of, was the people getting mad wanted to be the only ones at the party maybe????

I got a real nice 71 Topps Munson PSA 8.5 from Gem Mint's inaugural auction this summer. Their admin and shipment was solid.
I was a bit disappointed with the limited selection in their recent follow-up auction, but letting the CU forum know that the auction
was open wasn't a problem for me. As long as it doesn't turn into true, never-ending spam/advertising I think it is appropriate for any
professional auction house to put an auction notice in this forum.

    Just my opinion

Why would any collector object to being given a heads-up about an auction? Yeah, if it gets out of control it stinks, but a simple notice? I for one appreciate any and all such "spam"

<< <i>The idea that any auction house is more professional than another or than an individual, and that that affords them special privilege on these forums, is what I take issue with.

Like I said in the other thread, this really isn't and doesn't have to be a big deal ... I'm sure Kevin is a great guy and provides a great service and is an asset to the hobby.

The BST forum is simply where his post should have gone IMO.

PS bobbyw8469, I checked out his auctions and there was nothing there I wanted so this is purely a "code of conduct" thing image >>

Fair enough; if the only issue was in placement of the spam, then I'd agree with BBG.

if you guys keep this up for awhile, he won't need to spam the next one.
