Advice... I spaced out...

So... I'm having back surgery November 15th. I decided to launch 70 auctions in the past 2 days. They end on the 14th-16th. I'm going to be in the hospital at minimum over night.

I don't want any one else in the house shipping them because none of them have really solid knowledge of ebay and shipping discounts local buyers etc...

Should I cancel the auctions or let them run and try and get the message out?

I really spaced out and totally forgot about it and it just occurred to me while emailing someone that they end at this time...

wow, I'm having back surgery tomorrow as well.
You can revise and let buyers know that you'll be out of commission for a few
days. Tough call. Were those listings free? If so, I'd cancel them and just do it again
    when you're all better.
  • Ive seen "banner ads" on top of the eBay auction page sying seller will be unavailable till xx/xx/xxxx. You might try throwing up one of those banners on your auctions.

    Good luck my friend

In the future it's a good idea to put about an up to five day handling time just in case something happens.

I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure someone here said to could globally set that up and have it appear on all your auctions without relisting.

Try this: you can go into them in bulk and "edit duration" and make them all 5 day auctions and get them shipped before you go in (hopefully). You may lose some $$ from last minute bids, but it shouldn't be too bad as the buyers will still see it new end in "my ebay", ending in xx hours etc.

If you do this go to "my ebay", check the auctions you want to edit, check the boxes for all that you are doing, click "edit format and duration" and make them 5 days. They'll end this weekend and hopefully you can get them out on Monday. I also beleve that you can add a line in the description this way also on all of them in bulk, saying that you will be un-able to ship on the 15th to the 17th etc.

Good luck with them and the surgery.

    Afternoon,

Your better off ending the auctions because they were Free listings. Even when You put up the Banner you will get at least one A$$hole (Or More) who ignores or doesn't see it and will Neg or Neutral you for slow shipping.

It isn't worth the effort with the "I'm On Vacation" Banner, Been There, Done That !!! I did it when I went to the Nationa, two years in a row this happened, made my lsitings so you couldn't buy them, just see them, and some clown found a way around that and still bought one and two days later, even before the Banner was gone sent a "Where's My Item?" E-Mail.

    Was that you Matt? Scott?

  • I'm not supposed to be out incredibly long, I should be functional a day or 2 after the auction to at least communicate or print labels or something, I am just scared that a ton of people will be sticklers.

Do not change the duration of the auctions to an earlier day. Snipes that have already been set will not register, and you could have the auctions end way too cheap.

    Hi Sean

I don't sell on ebay - just wanted to wish you the best on your surgery.

Can anyone in the house at least send out emails to the winners indicating you had a last-minute surgery and that all items will ship ASAP after that?
