There is a real sheet out there like this - however, this is a copy of the real one.

If I'm not mistaken, it is believed this sheet was found as part of Honus Wagner's estate at one time. Many discussions have been had about this sheet (the real one, I mean), including whether it is indeed an uncut strip, or potentially five cards put together in a strip as a display for Wagner. (Picture the sales pitch, "See Mr. Wagner, if you sign with ATC, here is how your cards will appear!")

What Scooter says is correct. This is clearly a copy, a poor one I might add, of the uncut strip that was in Wagner's possession.

The original had significant creasing through the Wagner card.

This is an obvious reproduction. I hope there really isn't a legitimate buyer for this item.
  • it was 10.00 the last i looked just a few hours before it closed and someone when crazy on it. It clearly says in the description that the creases are not on the cards just looks like it.

I wonder if the buyer noticed that the "cards" are 7-1/2" tall.

"LIKE I SAID , I HAVE NO IDEA IF IT IS THAT OLD , BUT DONT KNOW WHY A NEWSPAPER FROM 1926 IS ATTACHED TO THE BACK"

cause you put it there - jackass

I'll give them credit for being clever with the newspaper, but I don't know who they expected to fool with the cards being oversized.

I remember years ago that Alan Rosen was asking $2 million for the authentic strip. It sold for much, much less. (In fact I don't even think it brought six figures but I may be wrong.)

Reportedly found in the pocket of an actual coach's jersey worn by Wagner, the card sold in the famous Barry Halper Collection auction at Sotheby's in 1999. Steve Verkman of Clean Sweep Auctions shelled out $85,000 for the strip, then sold it a year later in his own auction for $95,000.

I need to get into the business of mass producing stuff like this and eBaying it in this type of manner that clearly shows it can't be the real thing but play dumb and get crazy dumb bids.

I can't get bids on real items like this seller did that is for sure.

The real proof strip sold in a Hunt Auction last summer for $275K.

Have no idea what that thing is?

The guy is admitting it's a reprint and the creases are in picture form only - yet people are bidding that kind of money?

    Wow!

Too bad the Wagner wasn't the middle card. I would imagine if it were, it would bring much, much more.

    Later, Paul.
