It's on Like Donkey Kong! 1977 and 1979 Cellos and 1978 Rack GROUP RIP!!!! 2 77 cellos AVAILABLE!!

Someone didn't pay for their packs and has not been reachable by PM. I hope that person is OK, however, Steve said it's OK to release those spots. Sooooooooooooooo.

2 77 cellos are available! First post, first served.

THOSEBACKPAGES is the winner! Yes, a 1978 Topps Len Randle was my favorite card growing up!

NEW HINT AVAILABLE BELOW!!! EVERYONE TAKE A GUESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEXT HINT: THE CARD IS FROM A NATIONAL LEAGUE EAST TEAM

NEXT HINT: THE CARD IS FROM THE 1978 SET!!!!!

Updates made for payments.

See below for updates. Thank you WalterSobchak for letting me have one of your racks. That would have been lame to start and run this rip and not get a rack! Also, thank you stangrider for letting gemint have one of your racks. That is what community is about!

EVERYONE GETS A NEW SHOT AT THE PRIZE!

Here are the guidelines: ONE GUESS PER CLUE! I will give clues periodically through this process. Each clue entitles you to one more guess. I have reserved one of the 79 cello spots for the prize.

LATEST HINT: My favorite card as a kid comes from one of the sets involved in the break!

Hey all! Steve coolly and quickly responded and gave the go ahead for this rip, with the rockin' 10% discount as well. He's removing them from the site as I type!

I am about to take my daughter out for the day, so I will post deets this evening when I get back.

AND A SPECIAL CONTEST AND PRIZE!!!!!!

To celebrate the organization of my first rip, and to give back to the community who have been so kind and generous in donating cards to the kids at my school, I am running a special contest:

Guess my favorite baseball card as a kid and I will pick up one of your 1979 Cello packs! (I'm poor. That's the best I can do!)

Hint one: It's from the 70's. Good luck!

Oh, all the details will probably be the same as far as timing, number of packs allowed, etc. See you all later!

<< <i>Be sure to write down the prices of those boxes before Steve takes them down. >>

Got it covered Matt. The prices for future reference are:

    1977 Topps Baseball Cello Box - $1,100 less 10% discount = $990 / 24 packs = $41.25 per pack
    1978 Topps Baseball Rack Box - $1,750 less 10% discount = $1,575 / 24 packs = $65.63 per pack
    1979 Topps Baseball Cello Box - $425 less 10% discount = $382.50 / 24 packs = $15.94 per pack

Thank goodness my box break radar is working really well. image

I'm in for the maximum amount of packs which I figure to be 2 from each box.

Thanks Seth for getting this rolling!!! image

  • By my count, stangrider closed out the '78 racks. And that's without Sethro getting any.

Sethro, if you want one of mine, you are welcome to it and I'll only buy one.

If he's got more than the one box, I highly doubt it would be a problem- based on the response so far!
