Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Wow more bad news I hope he recovers but once your in hospice your prospects are already bleak as I went through this with my mom. My prayers are with you Joe.
Most of the grest fighters of the 70's have had major problems in the past decade or so. I think the only one still in reasionably good shape is George Foreman, who of course, fought into the 90's.
Everyone handles things differently; George Chuvalo , who was basically a human punching bag when he fought top opponents is still sharp as of last year while Ali, Frazier and Norton are all shells.
Larry Holmes is a step slower but still reasonably well also,
Jimmy Young, Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena all had sad sndings.
But that is part of life, look we lost Bob Forsch and Mateo Alou this week.

I read somewhere years ago, that including training, sparring, etc, it was estimated that Ali probably took approximately 50,000 blows to his head during his boxing career. Frankly, it's amazing that these boxers with long careers are alive and in any shape at all considering the punishment they absorbed.

One of my best memories with my Dad was when he took me to the old Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles back in the 60's to see Frazier fight

With Joe's courage and unwillingness to quit, if anybody can beat this thing he can.
