Life is very fragile.

I was in a car accident yesterday. Rear ended by a tractor trailer. No broken bones but I'm pretty beat up. My car was destroyed.

I'm grateful to be alive. I read the heartbreaking story on here about Mike losing his wife, or Mickey 71 having health issues, it just reminds me:

    Glad you are OK.

Our time here is very limited. This makes me want to leave work and go chill with the family the rest of the day. image

Tom ... glad to hear that you were not hurt seriously. After my little girl and wife were diagnosed with Cancer and I pretty much lost everything financially, I realized what really matters in life. Thank GOD that you are ok ... don't sweat the small stuff ... compared to life a card is just a picture on a piece of cardboard (even if it's a '67 Colavito ... lol).

I have had (and put back into remission) Hodkins 2 times in the last 4 years. I just had a follow up scan earlier this week giving me the "all clear" again.

It is one of the most nerve racking days of the year for me. Scan at 8 am...then just waiting around during work all day for the phone call.

Everyday, that is still in the back of my head.

yes, we should be thankful each day that we are able to do even the most simple things like smack each other around on these boards.....

Somewhere in the book of James in the Bible, it says something like "Your life is like a mist; it appears for a little while and then vanishes." For some, it vanishes quicker than for others. We're all glad you accident was not more serious.

    Hi Tom

I'm happy to hear you're OK.

That happened to my wife - totaled the car - she was alright.

I agree - life's short - we need to make the best of it - and - at least some of the time - not take it so serious.

Good luck. Hope you're feeling OK.

  • Hope you're back to your old self soon!
  • Wow so sad to hear. Glad your OK as a car can always be replaced, but a life is precious.
  • A little over six months ago, I watched an EF5 tornado rip my small town (Rainsville,AL) to pieces, killing 35 in one fell swoop(only Tuscaloosa had a higher death count). I cannot describe the feeling of helplessness as I stood about a mile from it as it passed.

Working for the local telephone company, we were already working on other damage. I made it home a little after one that night.

Some of the things I saw that night and following days, I care to never speak of.

I was standing about two hundred yards to the left of this individual who filmed this
