GTG on this 1889 Morgan eBay pickup with lousy pictures! :D -The coin is in!

I picked up this coin from a seller who obviously doesn't deal in coins very often. He listed it as "circulated." I don't really see any wear, but the pictures are lousy. I figured I'd take a shot at just over melt! What say you guys?

So many of the '89 dollars were made that you can find them weakly struck to full struck
and everything inbetween. Yours may very well be an AU or even MS but would have to
see in hand. I don't see any obvious wear in your pics.

He knows enough, how to photograph, crop, make layers.

So I guess circulated or cleaned.

Looks like AU58 at worst and MS65 at the other extreme. Is this a B/W pix or color? For just over melt it was a no-brainer!

Check for a doubled ear (usually most visible on the outside of the lower half of the lobe.) There are several different varieties.
    When in doubt, don't.

If there are no luster breaks AND if this isn't a doctored image, I'd say 63. In any event, if it was barely over melt it was probably a gamble worth taking.

I did all of that. They were two separate pictures that I cropped and put together. And they appear to be black and white, which i think might make the coin look a little worse than it is.

Hard to tell, as you know, but your gamble was well worth taking. Looks like a 64 to me, were it a 65 they take a nice jump in price.

It may be unc, and so a great pick-up, but I do not like coins with discoloring that is so consistently around the hgh devices. All the places harder to clean should not be the only places with that color.

Personally, I think you are going to be pleased when it arrives.
