Local Auction Today - "Curl Base 2" That Wasn't (PHOTO ADDED)

A local auction company had a fair sized coin auction today. Almost no certified coins, primarly pr0of and mint sets (1947 - 2011), common silver dimes to dollars plus some foreign, modern commems, and a couple AGE/ASEs.
About 20 people present and I will say except a couple items most of the bidding was smart. Bulk silver $10/$5 lots went around $260/$130, most common proof and mint sets went slightly below melt, ASE proofs went $60-65, early proof and mint sets went 15 - 25% back of bid (some were beat up and missing a coin or two).
I bought about 20 lots, most with $5 - 10 profit in them.
The fool of the day paid $850 for an 1829 "Curl Base 2" dime in AG that lacked a curl base 2... i.e. a $15 coin.

There was also a raw 1914-D cent in the auction. Never looked at it as I did not plan to bid regardless. It went for a steal if real, a rip if not.
