8 "freebies" on their way to PCGS... Photo's here just for fun! ** UPDATE: GRADES ARE IN

MeltdownMeltdown Posts: 8,650 ✭✭✭✭✭
Here's a few photo's from my collection. I recently auto-renewed my membership and
had to scrounge up a few coins...

Well, here's my grades! I'm very pleased with the results. My only problem is I can't seem to remember which Morgan
dollar I sent along with the submission.
1 1 19524287 5298 1875-S 20C US AU55
2 1 19524288 6357 1877-S 50C US XF40
3 1 19524289 6087 1807 50C Small Stars US VG10
4 1 19524290 1651 1827 1C US VF25BN
5 1 19524291 3373 1955 1C US PR65RB
6 1 19524292 2844 1957-D 1C US MS66RB
7 1 19524293 7172 1887 $1 US MS63+
8 1 19524294 7356 1921 $1 Peace US VF35

This is a bust half I plan to keep forever, so I'm having it "entombed". I really don't care about the grade.
image

This one is likely only XF40 because it's so dark but again, it's a keeper and I want it slabbed.

This one I purchased raw and am hoping for an AU55 grade.

I'm sending in this 55 proof just because it is so cool. It sure would be nice if it grades
higher than PF65 - but it could just as easily bodybag for the color.

I have no idea what this 57-D lincoln might grade, but it's gorgeous and fairly mark free.
I pulled it out of an original mint set I purchased a few years back.
I SURE wish that little spot above his head was not there.
I have a feeling it's going to knock whatever grade they give it down a point.

The spot is really exagerated in the tilted photo. Here's the lincoln straight on.

This large cent is much darker in hand, I shot it in too much light.
I think it's original but really don't know for sure... it's a gamble.

This 21 peace dollar is pretty neat. I think it's a perfectly circulated VF.
There's a slight lamination error? on the obverse about 7 o'clock.

That's a great 1827 large cent. I expect it will grade somewhere about 35.

That's what I was thinking also... I purchased it at a show from JJteaparty about 5 years ago.
I had to raid my type set album for a couple pieces to fill out my submission. That's one of them.

I think they will Jenny the peace, as that is a planchet flaw.

I like all of them, especially that Seated Half. the Eagle on that thing looks almost 3D with the dark and lighter areas.

Keep us posted on what they come back as.

Looks like a fun submission, hope they dont give you a genuine on the peace, they gave me one on a au 53 1894 Morgan with a similar defect for edge/rim damage. Hope you are luckier!----------BigE

I guess I should have left that coin in my type set album. I had couple other options but just could not decide.
In my opinion it's not damage, just character. Maybe PCGS will see it that way. image

The dollar looks like a cracked planchet,
but I also see numerous 'nicks/ticks' on
the rim in that area, on both sides of the coin.

Yeah, the '07 half has the look we all dream about.

You know, every once in a while a coin dredged up to fill out an order turns out to be a real surprise/winner. Best of luck!
