Dallas isn't a good place to search boxes of halves

Hello,

Just finished going through my fourth box over the past five months. The third box had three 40% halves in it. Everything else was all clad.

*sigh* someone post a success story to motivate me to try again.

I did notice a very shiny but scratched up 2009-P half.

Oh, about 20% of the box is 1976 halves. Why didn't the public pull all of them out of circulation like they did the bicentennial quarters?
I still call my accumulation my collection!

I hear shopvacs are a good place to search. imageimage
  • My buddy works in Plano and gets boxes every Friday and dumps them Monday, he typically averages 30-40 40% and 3-8 90% in every box. Just this one bank though, time and time again.

Don't feel bad... out of all the hundreds of rolls I have searched, I have not found one keeper. Cheers, RickO

Most people dont have the stomach to do the roll searching - for it to be worthwhile, you have to do constant large volume unless you hit the jackpot.

For almost a year straight I did 4 boxes a week - sometimes that meant I could go 10 boxes with no results!
