Why can't I sell a coin worth more than $500 for $0.01?!?!

Does anyone collection Mint Medals? The medal I am trying to unload is obviously worth more than $500 (they are selling them for $525 and are limiting you to 2)

$525 each

Here is my auction in the last day of a 7 day auction, with ZERO bids, and a starting bid of $0.01

Six for $0.01

I just want to get the darn thing out of my house without having to through it away!!! Bought it when I was a little kid thinking it was a cool thing from the mint.

Call them and ask if you can get more than 2 at half their asking price and see how quickly you can own a million of these.
  • Here is what you might get for it. but other completed listings didnt even get that for the Reagan. Doubt the others have much value near this.

  • You must be joking Sir

How could you have been a member here since 2001 and assume it has any substantial value !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<< <i>This Medal is rare and current bids being received are more than $500 each. Increase in value over time is highly probable. >>

PS: I've sold plenty of these mint medals. Real market value is less than $10 each.

BTW, who is running a charity thing this year? I was not trying to get bids this way, just venting. If someone from the boards wins, I will donate the proceeds of this auction to someone's charity. Isn't there usually one on the boards? If you win, let me know.

and don't need the donation but just wanted to post this cool picture of this year's animal...we do a different animal every year...

LOL - good one for a Wednesday! Yeah - no way in hell these are worth $500! Maybe $10 like someone else said. Let the auction go to completion and you will see what they are worth (what the market will pay). I sure hope that you didn't pay more than $10-$20 for them!

Well they are doing a "toys for tots" like thing in my office building, and I work right next to a Toys R Us, so I will just take the money there and drop the toys off in the lobby

  • That one looks like the large 3 inch bronze. Still, even for a a large bronze medal, $525?

Why is the right most lion so sad?

He's worried that the little kids won't love him as much as they loved the Woolly Mammoth we did two years ago...

No that one is trying to get the heck out of dodge. Russ' theory appears to be validated by that lion.
