I am sure that the Angel Dee set is being sold soon, which will give you a "free" spot on the current list. Nice set regardless of where you end up.

Great coin, but it looks like you will come up a bit short of the new set. I think you will have a 67.82 and they have a 67.84.

    Either way, great job.

Hey. Doesn't the "9" and the second "1" look too far spaced apart?!

Congratulations, dpoole! That's a fabulous set!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Congrats on a nice coin and a great set; you've got some real beauties. To continue the poetic theme:

You have great Lincolns from all the mints.
Can you give us collecting hints?

    Thanks for everyone's kind words.

I'm still not sure the value/wisdom of getting the set pedigreed. I did get the Washingtons and the Franklins pedigreed early on, but I don't know still about whether it was worth the bother. I've heard since some people resubmitting items from broken up and sold collections to get RID of the pedigree designation. Others have pointed out that pedigreeing looses otherwise potentially valuable assets such as the green labels.

The issue of pedigreeing Registry Sets has been broached here, but may be due for another discussion and debate among us.

My plans are to hang on to the set for a while in any event. Oreville suggested 20 years, but if I wait that long, Alzheimer's might set in, and I'll wind up buying bubble gum with them. Still and all, I respect his wisdom about this business.

I do plan to resubmit some of the PQ items for upgrades.

Otherwise, I plan to take a breather here and enjoy everyone else's efforts for awhile, including you fellow Lincoln collectors.

Still looking for that last 3CN proof, though!

Oh, and I'll promise to stop writing poems if Lordmarcovan and Cocoinut do! image
  • way to go david nice set

  • DAVID--
