Sorry, but I gotta laugh at this "ANA and NCG" member on ebay

Let's count the things wrong with this Franklin auction....

For me, I don't have anything against "self-slabbing" if it is noted as such. This isn't. Someone trying to show a slab as if it is legit from a legit 3rd party grading service.
Even before that, we have blatant AT that isn't noted.
Then, look at the slab....who here has seen "AU-52" before? image
"Higher end grade"....ummm...yeah, right.
Also, the seller lists themself as "ANA and NGC member", as if that should instill confidence against the other issues.
His other auctions as similar.

If this guy really is an ANA member, they should boot him out based on trying to sell this crap like that.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

this guy has a vast supply of AT'd coins. for instance, This Beauty, which comes in an AirTite to protect the owner from harmful fumes, I suppose.

Maybe we should ask what his ANA and NCG numbers are so we can verify his credentials? image
    When in doubt, don't.

You are surely slipping, how could you not point out this????

    << <i>The $14.95 cent 'Start Price'
    IS SET WAY BELOW
    2010 RED BOOK PRICE >>

One, any AU for Franklins isn't listed in the 2010 red book,
    and
Two, the price is way above the MS60 redbook price of $9.00

Want to report him? He's violating Ebay's policy on alterations to coins as follows:

"Include a clear picture of the actual coin or paper money item that is being offered for sale.

Include all information about any alterations that may have been made to the coins or paper money."

Obviously in violation on all his listings. 800 can't be wrong are just being duped.

In an amazing coincidence, this Webstore auction also has a slabbed coin from the same outfit, and it even has the same serial number! Maybe they only use one.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I buy the "self-slab" slabs, so I can use them for storage and gifts, but many of the sellers do promote using them with serial numbers and to sell them like "real" TPGS slabs. They even have a program for the inserts and tell you how to get the serial numbers, so it wouldn't surprise me if the system just generated the same serial numbers image

  • At least it's not being self slabbed as a super high grade.
