The Real Winner From Cheerios is....

General Mills. Their 2000 Cent and Sac promotion/advertising continues 10 years later! I bet they never imagined that Cheerioes Cents and Sacs would remain well know in the numismatic community this long after the promotion ended, nor that one of the coins would command hefty 4 digit prices!

their promotion will go down in numismatic lore, but i dont think it directly benefits them financially

I don't think it benefits them anymore. Too few coin geeks who know what a cheerios dollar is.

Maybe some news agency could do a human interest story... the young kids who got one and saved it, and puts it up for auction to pay for his mothers life saving medication.
