I try to angle the light as close to the edge of the coin without any light reflecting off the plastic directly above the coin. That way you won't get glare on your coin but you will get nice bright light to show off luster, frost, mirrors, etc.
Screwing with lighting is the worst part. But the rewards are nice. Show us more! Lance.
P.S. When you adjust the size of the photos, make them the same height, not width, and they will display nicer.

Reason is the auto focus many times goes to the plastic not the coin. Now when it gets good check whether you get the best results focusing on the devices or the fields.
