I did not see that coming. Is this an aberration or are any of the other FSs on the move?

It only takes two bidders with egos and a little extra money in their pocket. This auction had 34 total bids. Kudos to the seller. Kudos to the buyer.

I only track the "Liberty" Gold First Spouses. The Jackson Liberty started to gather a small premium right after its order period was unexpectedly cut short by a few days.

Until a couple of months ago, there weren't many sales taking place so the data was sporadic. I would call the current activity level somewhat active, but not necessarily hot. This selling price was a surprise. Maybe it's a red herring.

The Van Buren Liberty has also gathered up a reasonable premium since its order period ended. It's typically been only a half-step behind the Jackson.

The Jefferson Liberty was hanging in around melt until gold started to recover, and now it has moved solidly over $600 but it isn't really expected to approach the prices that the Jackson and Van Buren Liberties are supporting.

I am being tempted to shift some attention to the current batch of Gold Spouses, because of the attractively-lower mintages but as yet I've managed to resist..............someone else can chime in if they have price history information on any interesting Gold Spouse activity.

This should generate some interest, if the reduced mintage limits for First Spouse gold coins remain the same going forward.

The maximum mintage for the Abigail Fillmore First Spouse Gold Coin is 15,000 across all product options.
