stealing Justacommeman's job.... legend report up-
report
"One more thing about dreck, if you have lousy coins, TAKE YOUR LOSSES AND SELL NOW! We know what is happening in the market, there will be an even bigger pricing divide between quality and not so quality coins as time goes on. The market will NOT bail you out. And no, these comments are not self serving to stir up business.
I just wanted to add this quote in.
reason being it made me think of "the big one..."

FLOOD THE MARKET WITH DRECK BECAUSE DRECK IS HOLDING THINGS BACK SO ADDING MORE DRECK WILL FORCE PRICES HIGHER ? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I SEE
Walkers+Commems of all grades were top sellers.

Just like a broken record, she keeps repeating herself.

I think that overall, her advice is sound, and see nothing wrong with repeating it. Do you think or expect that she should change her tune and tell people they should keep their off quality coins? That the market will bail them out? That the pricing divide will narrow?

I haven't bought a US coin in over 18 months, but I have sold some on eBay. Coins in the holders eBay recognizes all did reasonably well, though I would estimate that prices have dropped 10-20% in that time. Two coins in holders that eBay does not recognize absolutely died even though they were correctly graded and had good photos.

<< <i>Where is MJ? He is conspicuous in his absence! Nice to hear commems were selling, I bought three.
I've been in Europe the past ten days. In Paris now FREEZING. Joe, thanks for picking up my slack
FYI- Laura busted my chops in Vegas for my posting of the Legends reports. She couldn't figure out why I would want to be hit with some of her deflected shrapnel that posting her reports often brings.
I just happen to think she has a great pulse on their market and I don't miss a read. Call me intrigued. MJ
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
no distracting scratches, gouges, or other marks and has surfaces that have not been rubbed, whizzed
or otherwise played with, then it is a nice coin and highly collectible. Laura does not sell these type of
coins, but they indeed can make a lovely, low cost collection if selected properly.
As for mid level and expensive coins, the accurate assessment of such coins always bears rep[eating
when the report continues to be true. Legend really does the high dollar business and they do not have
to engage in hyperbole in order to make a buck.

Anyone who values Legend's report is concerned about the current market and where it's going. Pure collectors don't give a "hoot". They collect what they like and don't
care about anyone's market report.
My collection is mostly "drek", you might say. I just do not have the urge to sell my collection so that I can buy one or two Legend coins. I'm not one for the hype.

I disagree. I know many collectors who like to keep up with market conditions and read such reports, despite the fact that they have absolutely no intention of selling any time in the foreseeable future. Keeping abreast of hobby happenings can be enjoyable and informative, without having to act upon it.

I agree with your point to a degree Mark. It's sort of like the sports fan who follows the salaries of athletes. I really don't care what an athlete gets paid, he just better perform on Sunday. If someone else wants to follow their salaries and still enjoys watching the game, I can understand that.
The fact is I won't sell any of my coins because of a recent coin trend (read fad!). In addition, I won't purchase a coin just because it's it's a high end grade. So what? If anyone wants to see examples lower grade coins that has moved up in value, just open your eyes. It's not hard to see.
I feel bad for collectors who let trends set their buying habits. Perhaps they are playing with all the money they've got. It would taint the hobby for me. But that's for me, to each their own.
