New Jersey Coppers...what does the letter designation mean in the Maris number?

e.g. what does the p indicate for a Maris 61-p?

61 is the obverse variety, p is the reverse variety.

Obverses are numbered 1 through 80-something, reverses start with A-Z, then with the 27th variety they move to lower case letters a-z, then with the 53rd reverse they switch to aa, bb, etc.
