I like the coin. It is a nice show of appreciation to our vets. I will be getting a couple for my family members that are serving in the military and those that are retired.
but it did fire me up to go to the American Veterans Disabled web site, and make a donation of what it would cost for the coin.
TAKE THAT MR. MOY !!!!!
support the cause , not the coin..... i think its time to see the construction of the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial in Washington, D.C.,

I don't like the design, a more thoughtful, inspiring design could have been made as endearing keepsake . I believe while a good cause, there are much better, helpful ways to support disabled veterans. I guess if they put a collection box at the memorial, that will be something, other than another pretty memorial to look at (and have the tax payers maintain). I fault nobody for taking a pass on this one. I'm retired USN and also a DV.
Got two BU's yesterday (Proofs still coming) and put one out in the store window. Sold it.

I am a disabled vet that joined back when we had a draft. Didn't have to, but did because I felt it was my duty. Ended up serving 22 plus years Marines and Army. However, I wouldn't make a pimple on the butts of the modern soldier that volunteers today, knowing what they know! Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan, and others are my hero's now. I will support them in anyway that I can. I'll be ordering a couple commemoratives for sure. Cheers

Got my coins the other day and I liked them as well. Being a Vet, I'm glad I bought them.
Save $$$ on many purchases to include EBAY and EBay Stores.
We've had both PF and BU specimens in hand since the 11th. I totally applaud the subject, but the design is unimaginative and looks like a recycle of the Little Rock HS dollar. Considering this is about our vets I'd have thought they would have put a little more thought into it.

So why waste time replying to a thread???
I ordered the 28th, the third day. I says backordered until 3/23. Cancel boxes still there.
I also think it is not the best idea for a comm dollar and wanted that to be known.....

Commemorating veterans is a fairly worthy topic of a commemorative coin, IMO.

I cannot think of a better group of people to support
than our veterans.
I'm a vet and feel the same. Not a fan of the design, and only $10 of the purchase price goes to the cause; I'd sooner donate $10 or more directly.

The better designs seem to always get rejected.
