of course, I guess it could always be fake but size and weight (27.1) are pretty much on. not that it matters in this day n age.
I guess the cleaning helps the authenticity? who would scrape the crap out of a fake coin, other than I guess a master-counterfeiter?

FWIW, I have seen fakes heavily polished to remove raised 'blems' or pimples in the fields that occurred because of the transfer die process.
