robkool was correct on both grades
Edscoin was correct on coin #2 being a F-102a
Both coins are No Drapery/Large Stars varieties

Both coins are graded by PCGS as MS-62. The #1 coin is a F-114, has mostly brilliant centers and
has numerous die polish lines. There are quite a few contact and slide marks also. This variety has
S1 nearly touching the rock below the crevice and the shield point aligns with the right side of the "1" in the date. The
strike is very good with few if any imperfections.

Coin #2 is in a fourth generation OGH, used from 1990-95 & CAC approved. I believe it's Ahwash-2. This variety
has S1 close to the rock AT the crevice, the shield point aligns with the left side of the first eight in the date and
the reverse is a double die at the bow, left leaves & the O (ne) & D (ime). A die crack developes at the top of
S OF AMER & above A3.
Based upon it's condition, strike, tone and eye appeal I think it grades MS-63. JMHO

    definitely #2 is better.

    first one au53/55

    second one at least au58

I see them the opposite way. I like #1 best (AU58ish), while #2 is AU53ish with a distracting toning spot.
    When in doubt, don't.

Definitely like #2 better due to toning and surfaces. This is F-103 in an early die state before the reverse die starts to show the vertical die crack.

First dime is F-114 variety which is early die state of Shattered Obverse #2. The reverse die is typically rusted and has metal flow lines. The posted example is quite nice.

I would buy/keep both. Both AU and different varieties. First thing that caught my eye was how far left of the shield the 1 on the second one compared to the first

I love the ND dimes and I would say #1 is an AU55 and #2 is a MS62. I have a 38 in a 62 that looks about the same as your #2 coin.
    Enjoy!

Must be time for a hint. Both coins are uncirculated and PCGS graded.

Both pieces are nice... The first one has prooflike surfaces with natural rim toning. The second is more original with natural toning.
    My pick... Coin #2.
    Both pieces grade MS62...

It appears that very different lighting setups were used to acquire the images, which makes me think that I would like coin one more than I do at the moment with respect to how I view coin two. Had coin two been recently offered on the CRO website? If so, I am somewhat familiar with the coin. I'll throw in another 1838 ND LS in an OGH from my collection-

Yes Tom, it's the CRO coin.

I can't quite attribute your beautiful coin from the image, which is slightly blurry,
or maybe it's my failing eyes. With so few imperfections I can only guess it's
an EDS of F-111 before the cracks?? But probably wrong. Is there polishing around the
    bow?
