What do you think of the World Coins section of Coin World (the 1st Special Edition of the year)?
I read that CW is producing 12 Special Editions of the magazine throughout 2010. This month's installment has a special World Coins section of some 30 pages.
Initially, I was enraged that darkside material was sullying the pages of this top quality publication, but I decided to take a look at the pages, rather than taking a razor to them prior to my perusing the magazine in my overstuffed chair.
I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the content. Although I have no interest in Canadian 10 cent coins (and therefore skipped that article), some of the other articles were quite well written. One of the things I liked best was the new advertisements for world coin and international auction firms that were included. I have not heard of most of those dealers and auction houses, and now I will make an effort to check out their websites.
As someone who regularly travels the world, perhaps I should be more aware of other countries' rare coinage, rather than just the US.
What do you think of the first special edition? Unfortunatley, the Editorials are as stale as ever, but at least the content of the first special edition was worthwhile.
