BTW, what caused me to think of this was a nice 1857 red 1/2 cent on ebay which I will give some free press. I don't know the seller and have no interest in the coin. --Jerry

I was planning on shopping for a nice 1909-S IHC in 65RD during 2010 for my 1909 Mint Set. However, with the new rules, I decided to pull the trigger now before the end of the year... so my answer was yes

Has pcgs ever clarified how they are supposed to know if you owned the coin prior to this whole nonsense? Are they seriously going to demand an invoice? Think about this for a second people: if someone can doctor a coin's color, is it that hard to fabricate a receipt??

It's an impractical policy doomed to fail. I would bet that PCGS modifies the terms before they're in stone.

True. But, I'm sure the coins PCGS is likely most worried about, the 5-figure and 6-figure coins, are much easier to track as they will almost all sell via public auctions.

The one thing that worries me is the effect on value of PCGS copper. I hope this is not the straw that does in the camel.

IMHO this might shake some tucked away RD copper out of strong hands...

I predict there will be a LOT of RD copper available on the market place in the next few months.
