Any Good Walker Dealers?

RichRRichR Posts: 3,841 ✭✭✭✭✭
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good dealer who specializes in Walkers?

I'm in need of the 16P, 20P, 29D, 29S & 33S slabbed in lower grade Unc.

Unfortunately, I keep seeing higher-end budget busters being offered.

Fellow board member WTCG has a lot of nice Walkers he comes across on the show circut. I have bought some very nice PQ walkers from WTCG. Give him a PM and see what he has.

None of the dates you have listed are real difficult. I would suggest keeping an eye on the Heritage auctions, as well as the David Lawrence and JJTeaparty websites. For those dates, I'd also recommend MS63 as a good grade to acquire them in. Lower MS grades will not be that much cheaper, and will probably lack eye appeal. You may also want to consider looking for choice AU58 examples as an option.

Are you looking for dealers that have physical possesion of the walkers or ones that are brokering them for the dealers that have physical possesion?

Don't know any specialists...BUT... I do know some dealers who "work" the bourse at shows... they are referred to by some as "Walkers" or "Walking Dealers"... image

  • good luck on completing your Walkers. Those last few are a pain.

I've got my last four early dates in for grading and I'm shopping for and buying upgrades already. I have reached 100% only on my date set, late set, and short set. I don't think I'll ever be finished.

How 'bout you? Are you working on any other half dollar series yet?

You might want to contact this guy:

    Steve Estes

I bought a nice DBH from him a couple years back and he sent me a great writeup he had done on the WLH issues
from 34-47D. So, he knows the series.

Edit: I notice that the writeup I referenced is now posted on the web site (in the Articles section):

It seems like at least once every two weeks WTCG has some walkers on the BST.

Make it known on the BST that your interested in buying walkers in that grade.
It cant hurt and you may find a few.
