Nice! I assume that's a rare ingot... I love odd ounce pieces.
  • Those old loaf bars are pretty.. I love the flow lines.

Also picked up this at a sliver over silver. Another "mini homerun". By the way, that Engelhard 4.000 oz bar is excessively rare. I have owned but 2 examples. Last one I sold was 3-4 months ago, and it hammered on the bay at $331. Just goes to show how rare it really is.....at over $80/oz!

  • That's a nice score, I've never gotten a 3 or 4 oz. Engelhard.
  • Both Sweet bars. First time I've seen the Suisse bar. Sexy.
    Its all relative

3's are fairly common, along with the 5's and 10's of course. The 4 is second rarest only to the "legendary" 7.000 ounce bar. A true find indeed!
  • I thought the 4 was more scarce than the 7. I had no problem finding 7's. Actually picked up 3 in last year. The 4 was Hardest for me.
    Its all relative

In my opinion the 4 is the hardest to find. The 7 oz is rare but can still be found but the 4 just never shows up for sale

I'd take $260 via paypal right now for it. Last one sold at $331 via ebay. Next one might sell for $350 or $200, who knows?

Does it weigh out at exactly 4.000 oz?

My old JM kilo bar says 999 and 1000. on it and weighs exactly 1001.0 grams. So they covered the 1/10 of a percent impurity possibility. I'm wondering why Englehard was so precise with this one, when it might in fact weigh 4.003 ounces. image
